Happy AI'ing out there!Awesome, anyone know if his can be done with Nova GE?Īs to answer the OP, I use the following smart tools:ġ) TDR Nova Smart Ops - Static Deresonate (makes it easier for the next step.)Ģ) Balancer - Solid objective starting point for creative/subjective EQģ) DSEQ (or Soothe 2) - final clean further 'Looks' and most importantly SOUNDS musical. Try it (on a track that is solid phase across the spectrum) and let me know what you think? Attached is a screenshot of the transfer curve on a recent mix. Voila! A track that sounds like a record with coherent phase and DEPTH. So I zero out all the EQ and only apply the Pan-Width match to taste. I'm not interested in the EQ Match as much as I am the Pan-Width match of the crucial bands (where I hear space in the reference track). I then load in smart ops the reference with the most preceived ambience and run match 'Gain-Pan-Width' at 100%! It generates an INSANE match curve that when applied does not transfer well onto the track being mastered. So I load up SlickEQ M and run smart ops on the most dense section of music. Once I'm satisfied with the mastered track and in good shape compared to the references I generally find that I'm missing (wanting) some depth. So I experiemented a bit and this is something I really like as the last step before limiting (post ALL Processing because this trick does not screw up phase when used correctly). However, most times I find myself 'chasing' the sound of the 'space' in a reference track. Most times a 'hard' EQ match just does not work (all songs are different but we all hear Equal Loudenss (Fletcher-Munson Curve). TDR SlickEQ M smart ops includes a 'match' function of 'Gain-Pan-Width'. I'm in! Here is a little trick I stumble upon and would like others to try and see (hear) what they think when applied to productions.
